Remember the Uruguayan rugby team's plane that crashed in the middle of the Andes mountains? With almost no hope of rescue they started to eat the dead in order to survive, before two of them managed to 'walk out' and find help. They made the story into a movie called "Alive". Then you have the other side of the coin, in famine stricken countries people die from starvation without even considering cannibalism. What makes those two situations so different? Religion or something else?

Cannibalism seems to be a favourite with Hollywood at the moment. I recently watched a couple of fairly new movies "The Road" and "The Book Of Eli" both of which feature cannibalism.
