Some officious cop in San Marcos, Texas, recently thought it a better idea to berate a grieving couple instead of helping them get their dying dog to a veterinary hospital. Krystal Hernandez held Missy, a choking teacup poodle, as Michael Gonzalez rushed south along I-35 from their home toward the New Braunfels Veterinarian Clinic. The trio sped by Officer Paul Stephens at 95 miles per hour in a 70 miles per hour zone.

The rookie officer pulled the couple over, then called for backup. After Stephens pulled the couple over, things got really crazy.

Once Officer Stephens realized that the dog was in danger (according to him, Missy's tongue was out of her mouth, and she was unmoving), he gave Hernandez and Gonzalez a hard time instead of a helping hand. As another officer struggled to clear Missy's airway and administered CPR, Stephens lectured Gonzalez about his driving and imparted this insightful jewel: "It's a dog, OK? You can get another one. Relax." Check out the video below:

I love my dawg. I don't think I woulda stopped till I got to the vet. Seems this guy held them up on purpose to "teach them a lesson."

That was some ignorant shit i just read by you guys. First off, he has a job to do no matter whose dying. Second, how did he know that a van doing what did he say ? 100 mph .. how did he know a van doing 100 mph had a dead dog on board. Third, was he supposed to say.. "Ok keep speeding , cya later" Even if you have a pregnant woman on board, you cannot cause danger to the public.

you can tell the copper was being a fucking asshole, and yeah, going a 100 is too fast, but stell doesn't mean you gotta be an asshole and cause the people more pain then are already in. he could have easily forgave them and help them out with the situation, but instead he stands there being a smart ass, insulting them, and those people didn't look bad at all.

Ummm so a guy speeding down the street at 100mph because his dog is dieing makes it ok to potentially threaten the lives of families or other drivers lives?
I think the cop did a damn fucking good job and the right job at that.
I guess this really shows the intelligence of people that visit the YNC saying piglet bastards and fuck tha police.
If it weren't for them you would have no one to help you when a DingalingKing comes in your house with a shotgun.

i just don't say shit for the hell of it, i got my reasons to dislike cops, and thy really aren't all that great, you can't count on them for shit unless there is a shootout cause they only join the force for the action, not to help people out. and if you think cops are so good, you watch too many cop movies.

It was eleven at night. There wasn't much traffic. The point is that he was showing his nuts and being a prick to this couple. How many vids do we see of people being cruel to animals? Everyone has tons to say about that. Here's a vid of people that actually care about their dog, and people wanna defend the cop that was just being a prick. It's shit like this that make people hate cops. He could've helped them, but instead he choose to be a dick. He's lucky the guy he was berating didn't panic and jump back in his truck and run over the cop. That guy was upset, and the cop thot he should lecture him for 20 min. Pure BS no matter how you slice it.

Love how you wanna chime in about other's intelligence, then end your post with, "If it weren't for them you would have no one to help you when a DingalingKing comes in your house with a shotgun." Yea, you sound like a real smart guy.

Well I was saying DingalingKing because well thats what they call each other right?
Every single video I see whether it be fights or stunts they are calling each other DingalingKings... So I just got used to saying it.
I could have said when your getting robbed by some guy but that would have seemed a little bit less dramatic.

The cop might have what appears to be a slightly redneck attitude, due to his upbringing. He may of only known working dogs throughout his childhood. This could lead to him to look at a dog the same as he would a cow, pig or any other farm animal and not the compassion one might show for a pet such as a dog, Llama, dung beetle or fresh water trout.

Quite honestly, if the dog died 15 minutes afterwards anyways, then I still really doubt that these 100-mph idiots would've been able to make it to the emergency room in time (assuming that they hadn't gotten pulled over), plus get a doctor's attention, plus have the doctors all run around for an available nighttime doctor (11pm you say?), plus have that doctor rush over to figure out what to do, plus ask a zillion questions him/herself to waste more time, plus figure out which medicine(s) to use and where they go, plus an on-the-spot operation if one was necessary, etc. etc. No way. Though I don't agree with the officer sounding apathetic about the "I don't care about your dog" or the "You better have a dying child..." lines, everything else he did was right on. Face it: The dog was a goner anyways.
