Default More Americans say they have no religion

A wide-ranging study on American religious life found that the Roman Catholic population has been shifting out o of the Northeast to the Southwest, the percentage of Christians in the nation has declined and more people say they have no religion at all.

Fifteen percent of respondents said they had no religion, an increase from 14.2 percent in 2001 and 8.2 percent in 1990, according to the American Religious Identification Survey.

Well because of the reported incidences of pedophilia in the theological institutions 10 or so years back, the media picked up on it pretty fast, and so I'm not surprised that a lot of people "lost trust" when it came to attending weekly theological ceremonies.

Have you ever read any Taoist books? Check out "Tao Te Ching" It's another ancient Chinese philosophy, not really a religion (no god)

No, but I have heard/seen Taoist monks they look very enlighten, but I don't think I have the patience/will power to become one.

I can assure you that religion is not a game to me. I like the ideals of religion like the ten commandments, buddhist teachings etc etc. I just don't believe everything in every religion, but I like taking the good parts of each religion and using them to better myself spiritual and physically.
