It is slowly being integrated into western society, but remember that western society itself is a mixture of different nationalities and cultures.
I live in a city where Islam is a major religion. I haven't met one Muslim who has been anything but kind to me.
I could go as far as to say that Muslims are kinder to their fellow man than any other religion.
Every one that I have met says hello, shakes my hand and treats me as a brother, unlike many Christians who are too stuck up to give a person the time of day.
They're people.
In my country, Islam isn't a violent problem. They're not looking for special treatment. They want to live as another person, and they deserve too.
