For me, it is a means of confronting both evil and mortality, to see for myself things that will hopefully forever remain outside of my life. As a creative type, I need to understand these situations for future reference. No pleasure is gained from these viewings, only a better knowledge of humanity
When god did the Midianite massacre and kept 32,000 virgins alive I hope he kept them away from the muslims
I don't feel like reading something that's in comple Ebonics, jigger!
Fuck the pussy hippy Christian god (turn the other cheek-LOL), I'd rather have a angry god that takes no shit and destroys those that deserve it

the amount of people god killed isn't important its the percent of the population he killed in a given time. there was fewer people in the past so if you looked at all the people who died in the name of religion it would be less than the amount of people who've died in current wars. but by looking at percentages you get a more accurate picture.
anyhow i didn't read the thread you posted im tired of religion and topic related to it.
I'm not all that religious, but can't God kill as much as he wants without question? I don't thinks there's a damn thing we can do about it, either.
The devil? He too does what ever he feels like it without question. His ways are more interesting. He makes people say, "the devil made me do it" which is cool.
The gods offer no rewards for intellect. There was never one yet that showed any interest in it.

I read that it was cool.
Some people get hope and strength from their belief, and I respect that.
I just choose not to be a happy camper and spend my days on Earth, reading upcoming attractions about how grand my life is going to be after I stop breathing.
I like to see enhancements in the world and think. I found that difficult to do when I used to spend my days certain I was responsible for the effort and "God' was responsible for the results.
