I was starting to walk across town to do some shit, and there was this old main street that cut thru town by my old home. Well to try and say the least, I was in the middle of walking up this small hill/street parrallel from the mainstreet, when suddenly, I heard this LOUD blood curtling sound of crunching metal that also sounded like a shot gun going off. So I run across this field to inspect wtf was going on, and as I was running to the location, I can hear the horn going off for what must have been 10 or 15 straight minutes before it stopped. I end up with in a small crowd of people looking down over the small hill to the main street (I was on the edge of the country side, so it was kinda wooded out by area), and I saw this silver jackknifed chevy silverado truck in the middle of the street and this ugly newer Chevy impala model that had a crushed roof sittin right side up, sittin against the bankside hill. Horn was going off in the Impala I think. No cops, fire trucks and ambulances even showed up yet. We all noticed that traffic has stopped and it got real quiet. Some people were walkin up to and seeing if there was any survivors. Half the people was dialing 9/11 too. So knowing I can go down and look at all the carnage before anyone can hold me back, I decided to back down at the last second. I was a lil traumatized, sad and shocked, but my curiousity overridin all that. So 2 hours pass into the night, and I see them pull out 2 bodies eventually. None of them was decapitated..... One fat guy was dragged out the Impala and some skinny guy out the silverado. Found out who they was later on.

Head on collision it turned out from what it looked and heard.

2 people died. One from the truck and one from the Impala.
Are you glad now that you did not walk right up to the scene?

That would mess anybody up at that age...
    Your best friend to boot.
Rough shit to have to deal with.

The following is not an accident that I witnessed. This was one that happened last
November and my daughter was at the scene.

The motorcyclist landed in front of her car. Fortunately, she was looking to her right
and heard the collision. She did not see it.
The driver of the car, seen in the first two images turned in front of the motorcyclist
and he hit the car on the right side.
My daughter explained to me that for the first few minutes he seemed coherent and
stayed still. She said he looked in terrible condition and was bleeding heavily.
It took some time for the EMS to arrive and shortly before they got to the scene, he
began to talk with slurred speech and wanted to get up. She and others urged him
to be still. By the time the EMS reached the scene, he was unconcious. My daughter
knew he was not going to make it and he did not survive.
Later, members of the victims services group drove my daughter to the baby momma's
place and spent aboot three hours with her.
My daughter has been changed in profound ways since that accident and I feel terrible
that she had to go through that experience.

She keeps her head up and is glad that she was with that man in his dying moments.

The driver of the car was fined $115.00 for making an unsafe turn.
Some think that is a joke. There is more to the story though and that
    will not be released.

My daughter's car is at the left side of the image, in the distance.

    ...

    The victim.

Sept 11, 2001 / 8:47am / coming out of a Krispy Kreme donut shop located at 7WTC, to the right of the Globe Water Fountain (now Ground Zero).

Exited the shop to find debris falling from the sky, people running everywhere and so much paper in the air it reminded me of Times Square confetti on New Years Eve. It was a surreal like a movie being filmed. I was in a daze until a solid oak conference room table crashed about 100ft near the water globe! Reality kicked in and I started to boogie!
Like an idiot, I ran towards work (deeper into WTC area) thinking it was a bomb, isolated to that building, and that since it didn't affect my building, there'd still be work with a shitload of watercooler chit-chat! Typical NY'er attitude!

    I was wrong!

So getting on topic, "have you ever seen".........have you ever seen 25 people drop to their deaths from the burning buildings in less than 2 minutes? Have you ever seen a man balance on the edge of a window trying to escape the heat-smoke, just to get smashed by a falling person who takes him down with him? Have you ever seen thieving paramedics steal watches-wallets off unconscience bodies? Policemen run away from a 2 story tall smoke cloud, while ordinary citizens run into it to help others? Have you ever seen a therapist because you felt so helpless and like a coward for running?

Your obligation that day,was to get home safe.
I understand now,why you are so dedicated to family and your community.
Be proud of being a survivor, who is making the most his life.
