17-Year-Old Muslim Teen Shot by Tracy Officer After Not Dropping Knife

Cause of Shooting: The teen didn’t follow Officer C. Ramirez’s commands to stop and drop the knife and instead went towards Officer Ramirez causing the officer to shoot him twice.
After The Shooting: When the family and neighbors started gathering around, the mother of the teen picked up the knife the teen had and Officer Ramirez ordered her to drop the knife and she complied. The knife was kicked by one of the family members moments after the knife was dropped. Officers then rendered aid to the teen who was then taken to a hospital in stable condition.
