Gurdaspur, January 11 A Gurdaspur man live-streamed his suicide on social networking site Facebook from his residence here today. He hanged himself from a ceiling fan. Paramjit Singh (28), a resident of Nanowal Jinder village, had a midnight tiff with his in-laws, who live in Daburji of Amritsar rural police district, following which he claimed he was going to commit suicide. Seconds later, Paramjit climbed atop a bed and tied himself to a fan with his turban and ended his life. His family members were in the other room when he took his life. The incident occurred around 12.45 am. He used to work as a JCB operator in Gujarat and just 10 days ago he was blessed with a son. His kin claim that he had an estranged relationship with his wife and in-laws since long. SSP Harcharan Singh Bhullar formed a team to look into the sequence of events leading to the crime. “His wife Baljit Kaur and her parents — Sarabjit Kaur and Upkar Singh — have been booked under Section 306 of the IPC (abetment to suicide) on the statement of Paramjit Singh,” said Bhullar.
