"Nadiia Mykolaivna Pedan (call sign "Nikolashka") was a 41-year-old Ukrainian combat medic and driver-mechanic of an M113 armored personnel carrier. She served in the 32nd Separate Mechanized "Staleva" Brigade. On December 6, 2024, she went missing during intense Russian assault operations near the village of Shevchenko in the Pokrovsk region of Donetsk Oblast. She remained missing for one year and eight months. Her family and community held onto hope and searched for her, until DNA identification officially confirmed her death after her body was recovered through a formal Russian-Ukrainian exchange of remains.
