Jihadist groups linked to Al-Qaeda (JNIM) and Tuareg separatist rebels launched simultaneous assaults on military and civilian targets. Graphic videos that emerged from the attacks show the bodies of numerous civilians — many with their hands tied — executed in rural areas. The footage, originally circulated by the perpetrators, was later shared by pro-Malian and African Corps accounts as evidence of deliberate massacres against the civilian population. Malian Armed Forces, supported by Russian African Corps units, engaged the attackers and eventually repelled the offensive. The events resulted in significant casualties on both sides and highlighted the ongoing brutal conflict between the Malian government and jihadist/separatist groups in the Sahel region.</a>
