On May 7, 2026, suspected Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebels launched a midday incursion into Biakato, the capital of the Babila Babombi chiefdom in Mambasa territory, Ituri province, eastern DR Congo. The attack, which occurred around 11:30 AM, directly targeted the Lalia community. Local sources report a provisional death toll ranging from 11 to 15 civilians, with several others injured. Witnesses reported that the attackers pillaged and set fire to shops, houses, and a motorcycle.
