A wooden race car in San Roque missed the finish line but hit everything else. It jumped the track, mowed down a crowd of onlookers, and turned a friendly race into a crash derby. One person is badly hurt, others are counting their luck. The car was wooden. The safety plan? Probably wooden too. If you're going to race down a hill in a plywood go-kart, at least make sure the crowd isn't standing where you're steering.
