An Indonesian Su-30MK2 wanted to see what's beyond the runway. It found out: grass, a slope, and a crowd of gawking locals. The brakes gave up during a takeoff test. The jet went 30 meters past the end. The crew walked away. The plane didn't. In Indonesia, the only thing softer than the landing area is the excuse for not fixing a known problem before testing.

A former Russian economy minister once said that the Russians should have exported more pork to Indonesia. Apparently they weren't exporting pork to Indonesia because Indonesia's population is Muslim, but apparently they started exporting airplanes. They should have taken the pork! It would have been more useful to the Indonesians than these Russian antique airplanes.
