Instead, you have religions (looking specifically at islam) that fuck everything up by wanting to take over or kill anyone who isn't like them. They spoil the world for everyone.

@Void Simple explanation, but that really is what it boils down to. People forget, the ONLY reason a war can proceed is if men willingly agree to go and fight OR the government forces you to fight. So, if you have a choice, don't do it. And if everyone who had a choice, chose not to, then wars wouldn't even really begin because there wouldn't be enough people to perpetuate it.
Then, the so-called "diplomats" would be forced to come to an agreement.
