SACRAMENTO, California — Police have released body-camera footage showing officers fatally shooting a suspect following a bank robbery in Sacramento at the end of January.

The incident happened Jan. 29 after officers responded to reports of a robbery at a BMO Bank near Response Road and Challenge Way. According to police, a caller reported seeing a teller hand money to a suspect who then fled the bank.

Officers located the suspect running near Exposition Boulevard and began pursuing him on foot. Video released by the Sacramento Police Department shows officers repeatedly ordering the suspect to drop a firearm.

Police said the suspect then pointed the weapon toward officers, prompting at least two officers to open fire. Officers provided medical aid at the scene before the suspect was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities later determined the weapon recovered at the scene was an imitation firearm.

No officers were injured during the incident. The shooting remains under investigation by the Sacramento Police Department’s homicide unit, internal affairs division, professional standards unit, and force investigation team.

@SugarSlaughter293 Ok so he just robbed a bank, tried to point a weapon at officers and had it been a real gun, lets say one got shot and CPR was never going to help him, and unlike that robber, the cop isn't a criminal waste of space, you also need to consider how given most police shootings end up being in the upper body, in most cases you are fucked already regardless of CPR efforts
