They don’t teach spinal cord care obviously. Lifting them about could be causing paralysis. Even broken bones cutting arteries or spinal cord. Just support on a board for lifting. Wait for expert help. Just support injured persons breathing. Then wait for medical board and neck ring. Wrestling them into a chair will only do harm.

@Southern Star Spinal cord care is not uniformly taught or accessible in India due to severe, systemic challenges, including a massive shortage of specialized rehabilitation centers, lack of trained personnel, and high costs. A 45-day average delay in specialized care often occurs, with many patients in rural areas lacking basic education on preventing long-term complications like pressure sores.
Efforts to improve this, such as the ASSI five-year plan or using tele-rehabilitation to bridge gaps, are underway but face hurdles in implementation and infrastructure.

Why do these idiots always have to jerk the person off the ground when it's the last thing you should do?

@Aneuman 3rd world noobs believing in cow dung, piss, multiple gods, incense, arranged marriage, of course they're medical emergency / catastrophic injury noobs

1 +1 BigHeartSmallWorld 2 months ago

@Akai that’s not the reason, though. Individuals in developing nations ("3rd-world";) often appear inexperienced in handling medical emergencies not due to lack of ability, but due to systemic issues like limited access to high-quality healthcare, fewer resources, and scarce training in trauma response. These environments create high-risk scenarios where simple injuries often turn into long-term disabilities.

Healthcare systems may lack essential equipment, functioning trauma centers, and adequate blood supplies for emergency surgeries.
Inadequate transportation (ambulances) or poor road infrastructure delays access to care, which is critical in "golden hour" emergencies.
There is often a shortage of trained emergency responders and specialized trauma surgeons, leading to a reliance on primary care providers for complex injuries.
A lack of universal health coverage or individual financial resources often leads to delays in seeking care, which increases the severity of the injury.
Areas with lower infrastructure quality have higher incidences of infectious disease, malnutrition, and trauma injuries, which overburden the existing, limited health infrastructure.

These factors mean that even with a willingness to help, bystanders and local practitioners may face significant limitations in providing the same standard of emergency, trauma, or intensive care found in more resource-rich regions.
