Head of the Padang Class A Search and Rescue (SAR) Office, Abdul Malik, confirmed the discovery of the body of the victim named Windy Rahma Putri (25), a resident of Padang Pariaman.

"The victim was found by the Joint SAR Team at 10.45 WIB in a state of death (MD) not far from the location where the victim was initially reported to have slipped," said Abdul Malik in his official statement, Friday (16/10/2026).

He explained that the tragic incident began on Thursday (October 15, 2026) at around 3:45 PM WIB. At the time, the victim was enjoying the natural scenery while bathing in the Robo Waterfall area in Harau Village. However, the victim suddenly slipped and fell into the waterfall, where he is presumed to have drowned and been swept away by the current.

The SAR team first received a report of the incident from the Lima Puluh Kota Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) on Thursday afternoon at 5:27 PM WIB. The 50 Kota Search and Rescue Post immediately responded by deploying personnel to the Last Known Position (LKP ).

The search continued extensively on Friday morning, starting at 7:00 a.m. WIB. The joint SAR team combed a search area of ​​approximately 570 meters around the coordinates 0∘03′49.4′′S 100∘39′35.9′.

This operation divided the forces into two SRU ( Search and Rescue Units ) in two sectors (Sectors A and B) involving various technical elements and the local community.

"The evacuation process began immediately after the victim was found. At 11:45 a.m. WIB, the team successfully transported the victim's body to the main post before finally handing it over to the family to be taken to the funeral home," explained Abdul Malik.

After the victim's body was successfully evacuated and handed over to the family, the Joint SAR Team held a debriefing at 11.55 WIB.

"With the discovery of the victim, we officially propose the closure of the SAR operation. All elements involved, including the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), the Fire Department, the village officials, and dozens of local residents, will be returned to their respective units. We express our deepest gratitude for the synergy and hard work of the entire team in the field," Abdul Malik concluded.
