Four members of the criminal gang led by "El Yeison"—which specialized in the theft of vehicles and motorcycles—were killed during a confrontation with CICPC officers.

The alleged confrontation took place in the 18 de Octubre sector of Barcelona, ​​in the state of Anzoátegui.

No officers were injured during the incident.

The four individuals killed were identified as 24-year-old Yeison Rafael Chacón Marcano (the gang leader), his 27-year-old brother Anderson Josué Chacón Marcano, 21-year-old Jesús Alexander Merecuana, and 30-year-old Alexis Alexander Guaiquirián Guaregua.

Authorities recovered the firearms used by the suspects, and investigations into the incident are ongoing.
