A gas cylinder explosion involving an itinerant meatball vendor occurred at the Taruna Parahyangan Complex in Ujungberung District, Bandung City, West Java, on Saturday (October 17, 2026) at approximately 10:30 AM Western Indonesian Time (WIB).

According to gathered information, the incident began when a gas cylinder located near the vendor’s stove—used for his mobile meatball business—reportedly developed a leak, resulting in an explosion while the vendor was serving customers.

Flames from the blast struck the vendor, leaving him with burns on his face, hands, and back.

Local residents, alerted by the loud explosion, rushed out to investigate and provide assistance to the victim.

Although residents offered to take the vendor to a hospital, the man—who was in a state of shock—chose to be taken home instead.

The incident drew the attention of nearby residents, who stepped in to help the victim in the aftermath.

As of the time of writing, there is no further information regarding the exact cause of the explosion or the current condition of the victim.
