USA: SWAT confronts a man on a bridge for over 2 hours before he finally jumps
They could've done a better job. A better job of getting the landing !!
In America, you might see suicide interventions in comedy films—for instance, ones featuring Sylvester Stallone!
In reality, things are quite different. A likely lack of funding has led to police recruits being trained to land precise shots on a person’s torso or head—or, for the more "skilled" among them, to drain the last drops of blood from a wounded suspect! I suggest that these American "wild-west" sheriffs just go ahead and shoot at potential suicide victims—it would be faster and more efficient, and they’d even get some time off to recover from the stress of it all!
The Dallas police officers obviously are chagrined. They only got 28 minutes of overtime.
