A 27-year-old man, identified as Safiq Khan, was shot dead in West Bengal’s Howrah district early this morning. The incident took place around 4:10 am in the Golabari area when two unidentified assailants allegedly fired four rounds at him from close range.
Police suspect the murder may be linked to an old rivalry and an ongoing extortion dispute.

The Rapid Action Force (RAF) has been deployed in the area as a precautionary measure. Howrah City Police has launched a detailed investigation and is currently scanning CCTV footage to identify the attackers.
