Is it a tradition in this country to grab a gun and walk into a crowd showing it to everyone, thinking that police officers won't react when they see you cutting up a weapon?

4 +1 BigHeartSmallWorld 3 months ago

@Metatron No, that is not a tradition in Indonesia. In fact, Indonesia has some of the world's most restrictive, strict gun control laws. Brandishing a firearm, walking with it in a crowd, or showing it to people is illegal and often met with severe, sometimes lethal, police action. (Such as seen here)

@SugarSlaughter293 The idiots were playing with toy guns and found out the hard way.

2 +1 BigHeartSmallWorld 3 months ago

@ArkStowaway true.

2 +1 BigHeartSmallWorld 3 months ago

@ArkStowaway they should stop making toy guns look so realistic. Use designs like Nerf, or nothing!

@SugarSlaughter293 Its to keep the population from revolting against islam

1 +1 BigHeartSmallWorld 2 months ago

@Akai wouldn’t they have just armed themselves with knives or long sticks or something if that was the case? We’d see protests and riots.

However do note that; Indonesia's gun control laws are indeed extremely strict, but they are not generally described as a measure to prevent a revolt against Islam. Rather, the stringent regulations are designed to maintain overall state stability, public safety, and to curb crime. The government uses these laws to control violence and prevent the rise of extremism—both from militant groups and from those who might engage in vigilantism—in the world's largest Muslim-majority nation.

There definitely is something fucked up with the water on Sulawesi Island.
