@crapola Asylum seekers in England, who have applied for refuge, can receive temporary housing (such as a flat or hostel) and a weekly allowance of £49.18 per person (£9.95 if meals are provided) for essentials. This is not for ALL immigrants, but strictly for those with pending asylum claims who would otherwise be destitute.
