William Fernando Bustos Ramírez, known as “Bebito Fiu Fiu”, was murdered after receiving several gunshot wounds to the head.
On the night of Wednesday, March 4, this new violent incident was recorded in the Huaquillas canton.
The attack occurred on Guayas and Velasco Ibarra streets, in the El Carmen neighborhood, an area where, according to residents, similar incidents have occurred in recent weeks, keeping the community in a state of anxiety.
According to testimonies gathered at the scene, the victim was walking along a quiet street when he was intercepted by armed men.
Without saying a word, the attackers reportedly opened fire repeatedly, hitting him mainly in the head.
After committing the crime, the assailants quickly fled on a motorcycle in an unknown direction.
The man lay sprawled in the middle of the street, while neighbors, alarmed by the explosions, came out of their homes.
Minutes later, units of the National Police arrived, whose agents cordoned off the scene to preserve evidence and confirm the situation.
Upon checking Bustos' condition, the officers confirmed that he no longer had vital signs.
Subsequently, the arrival of specialized units was coordinated to carry out the removal of the body and begin the corresponding investigative procedures.
Residents of the area expressed their concern about the growing insecurity and requested a greater police presence, arguing that other violent incidents have been reported on the same streets in recent weeks.
Police said they are gathering information and reviewing security camera footage from the area to identify those responsible and clarify the circumstances of this latest murder.
