Renowned diver Kiplimo Rono, who hustled at Cheploch Gorge in Elgeyo Marakwet County, has reportedly lost his life after being swept away by powerful currents while diving into the swollen waters on Saturday afternoon.
Witnesses say the deceased attempted to cling to nearby rocks in a desperate bid to save himself but was overpowered by the raging waters.
Rescue operations were launched but later suspended due to heavy rains and dangerously strong currents, with search and recovery efforts expected to resume once conditions improve.

Not really a diver. nor a swimmer. More like a jumper. They cut the video too soon. Where's the part where he's clinging to rocks. The river honestly didn't look that fast moving, but that's not always obvious.
