A retired teacher was brutally murdered by criminals to whom he had rented his property. His captors buried him alive and, despite killing him, collected a large ransom from his distraught family.

The SSPC's Tiburón Group arrested the dangerous criminal cell in Río Seco and Montaña on January 7. The criminals were transporting weapons and drugs when they were intercepted by state security forces.

Investigations reveal that Professor Pimienta was kidnapped for a ransom of two million pesos. His family paid part of the money, but the criminals never released their captive.

A video, in the possession of the Attorney General's Office, shows the horror: the detainees threw the teacher alive into a pit. After stabbing him multiple times, they covered him with dirt, causing him a slow and agonizing death. Yesterday afternoon, news broke of the discovery of the professor's remains on a rural road in the municipality of Huimanguillo.
