All Magnotta was guilty of, was a scalability error. Going directly from cats to people was an incorrect process. Obviously he required an intermediate step in his modeling.
Farm animals would have been the logical choice. For example, he could have learned how to properly chop up sheep and then pursue his hobby in the correct manner. And there is an added factor - they are fuckable. Magnotta had to painfully learn this lesson.
