SARASOTA, FL – Just after 2 a.m. on Friday, March 27, Sarasota Police officers responded to a call about a man in crisis in a parking garage. When officers arrived, they found him on the sixth floor, in immediate danger.
Sarasota Police Officer Banasiak quickly began speaking with the man, offering calm reassurance and letting him know he was not in trouble and that help was available.
Officers Plumley and Perez arrived to assist. When a critical moment presented itself, Officer Banasiak reached out and secured him. With the help of the assisting officers, he was safely pulled away from the ledge.
