@meat1069 Without pain? Says who? The head, neck and face have craino-facial nerves. The head (and remaining blood in the brain) would still feel pain from the cuts on the neck which would travel through all the craino-facial nerves.

@Grendel As long as there is still blood in the brain, there is still consciousness. So yes, he was aware of his beheading and was conscious and visually saw it.
