A serious accident that occurred on Saturday night (09) shocked residents and visitors of Jaconé, in Saquarema, in the Lakes Region. The collision took place on Avenida Beira-Mar, near Rua 76, and resulted in the death of a motorcyclist and a pedestrian.

According to preliminary information released by the Jacone em Foco Rio page, the motorcyclist was traveling along the road when he hit a man who was crossing the avenue near a bar. Due to the force of the impact, the pedestrian suffered very serious injuries.

Fire Department teams were called, but upon arrival they found that both victims were already deceased.

According to the information, part of Avenida Beira-Mar had to be closed for the work of the forensic team and removal of the bodies, causing traffic congestion in the area.

At the moment, the identities of the victims had not been officially released. The case will be investigated by the responsible police station.

On Saturday night, by the sea with a crash and a crack,
On Beira-Mar Avenue, things went dreadfully black.
Near old Rua Seventy-Six, by a bright little bar,
There came a great smashing of scooter and car—
Well, not quite a car, but a man crossing through,
And the motorbike rider came zooming right to.

Oh, the bump! Oh, the bang! Oh, the terrible sound!
As the poor startled townsfolk all gathered around.
The fellow on foot was hurt frightfully bad,
And the rider, as well—it was terribly sad.

The firefighters hurried with sirens so loud,
While neighbors stood murmuring deep in the crowd.
But alas, when they came to the grim little scene,
Both souls had departed from where they had been.

So the road by the water was shut for a spell,
As the officers worked through the darkness and swell.
The forensics team measured and scribbled away,
While traffic backed up till the break of the day.

And the names of the victims? Not known yet, you see.
They were not shared officially, solemnly, free.
Now the police of the district will look and inquire
To uncover what happened beside the sea fire.
