An elderly woman, approximately 60 years old, was killed after being struck by the No. 34 Titas Commuter train on the Ramnagar Bridge in Raipura Upazila, Narsingdi district.The incident occurred at the Bhairab end of the bridge as the woman was crossing from the Bhairab side towards the Ramnagar area. She was hit by the Akhaura-bound train coming from Dhaka and died on the spot due to severe head and body injuries and excessive bleeding.According to Bhairab Railway Police Station Officer-in-Charge Saeed Ahmed, the victim was a vagrant woman who lived in the Bhairab railway station area. She was wearing a pink printed dress. Her identity has not yet been established.The railway police, along with a PIB team, are working to identify the deceased. Her body has been sent to Kishoreganj Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy. An unnatural death case is being prepared at the police station.

I worked on an oil rig across the Trinity from the world famous Fort Worth Stockyard. DART rail had a bridge over that crossing. I never was tempted to take that shortcut.
