On May 13, 2026, at 1:31 PM in Beicheng, Heihe City, Heilongjiang Province, a woman was walking on a perfectly normal sidewalk. She wasn't jaywalking. She wasn't texting. She wasn't doing anything wrong. Then a box truck turned into a residential complex, slammed into a metal height-restriction bar — and the entire thing collapsed onto her. The surveillance video shows her walking one second, crumpled on the ground the next. The truck driver jumped out, tried to lift the pole off her, called for help. But she was already unresponsive. The bar was installed to 'protect residents from large trucks.' It did the exact opposite. Local authorities are 'investigating.' They haven't said if she survived. They haven't said if anyone will be charged. Just another day in China where infrastructure fails and pedestrians pay the price.

I know what I'm about to say is a bit moralistic, but if she had stayed home, this wouldn't have happened.

This is a special public service announcement from me:
Last night an angel came to me and said that I should change my ways or suffer for eternity. So I'm turning over a new leaf. No more poking fun at queers for me. They're now my close friends and don't any of you assholes give me any shit about it or I'll fuck you up.

Being China, the truly amazing thing was that the drive actually went to help. Almost as improbable as the bar hitting the lady on the head.

LOL... for 'protecting residents from large trucks.'

@THETOTALGUY In this case it wasn't the pedestrian's fault, don't be unfair to the poor bastard

A barrier gate would make sense, but this… is… China. Never mind there’s no bar for exiting.
