On May 15, 2026, in Vargem Grande Paulista, São Paulo, Fábio Amorlim dos Santos, 44, armed with a knife, burst into the commercial complex where his ex-partner worked. He stabbed her four times, one of which pierced her heart, and also stabbed his current boyfriend in the stomach. The current boyfriend grabbed a stick and repeatedly struck him until he was subdued. The woman remains in serious condition at the Cotia Regional Hospital, the boyfriend has been released, and the attacker has been arrested for attempted femicide and murder.
