Notice the sense of doom with which these Russian mercenaries step onto the soil of neighboring Ukraine.
There is no hatred for Ukrainians visible on their faces, no love for their own dictator Putin, and not even any clear understanding of what they are doing there.
They have quite literally sold their lives to Putin for the equivalent of a few average lifetime earnings by Russian standards, and they seem to clearly realize that these may be their final steps.
