The young man came to a group to pick up his previously stolen smartphone, but instead of talking, the crowd surrounded him and attacked him.

The attackers kicked and punched the victim, preventing him from standing. He was taken to the hospital with multiple injuries.

I mean, if they stole your phone, and you know there are multiple people there, you either bring friends and/or a weapon. Otherwise you will just get your ass kicked and perhaps being robbed again. And no, calling the police is useless, especially in Russia, where they are incompetent and corrupt to the bone, but the police in many western nations is doing its best to catch up to Russia on these standards, especially when dealing with immigrant crimes!
