Actually in the first testament they were call philistines and were a travelling people that found ancient ruins (pre history ruins built with huge blocks) and settled there. The Jews came after and decided to let them have the land as they were there first. That was around 500bc. Why do you think the Jews allowed them to stay??? Cause they were already there! Other such ruins are (Google this)- stones of Baalbek, temple of Jupiter (triliithon stones), the whaling wall (not built by the Jews). All ancient pre history stunning buildings we still do NOT know who built them. Each race tries to claim them as the first for example MECCA! All these places throughout this large area were not built by any of them and is where the deep rooted belief arguments come from!!!
