@Grandpaw Jagdish Prasad, a 58-year-old police inspector, died while attempting to rescue people trapped in the malfunctioning ride.

As the ride broke from one side, Prasad rushed to help those trapped. The structure then collapsed, falling on the victims below. Prasad sustained critical injuries and was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

An investigation into the cause of the mechanical failure is underway, with officials examining whether safety protocols were properly followed at the popular annual fair.
