A video circulating on social media shows a young man and woman lying on the ground after being struck by lightning in the Cujuapa canton of Cojutepeque.

According to preliminary information, the two were riding a motorcycle and decided to stop to wait for the rain to end, at which point they were caught in the electrical discharge.

The incident resulted in the death of an 18-year-old man, while the young woman was taken to a hospital for medical treatment.
