A 23-year-old woman was attacked with a knife by her ex-boyfriend in the early hours of Friday (10) in the Colina de Laranjeiras neighborhood, in Serra, Metropolitan Region of Vitória. The crime was captured by security cameras and the attempted murder was interrupted by residents.
The aggressor, 23 years old, found out that his ex-girlfriend was going to a friend's house and went to the location. He broke down the gate of the building and waited for the victim to arrive. When she got off her motorcycle, he attacked her with a knife, inflicting blows to her back, shoulder, and head.
The woman tried to escape for almost a minute, but the criminal only gave up the attack when residents started throwing objects from the window and shouted that they would call the police.
Injured in the hand during the attack—the knife broke at the scene—the suspect fled and ended up at the same hospital where the victim was admitted. He was recognized by the Military Police and arrested in the act.
Messages on the assailant's cell phone indicated that he had planned the crime. The victim remains hospitalized in serious condition, but there is no update on her condition. The case has been registered as attempted femicide.
