Cannot tell if she truly injured herself by looking the video. Though such kind of "catch sharp falling tools" phenomenon is not entirely happens out of stupidity. It was stupid to fidget-remove the sheath, while standing. But when the brain got the memo (within the fracture of a second) sg. is falling, and mistakenly identified it with the sword - there way no way back.
Instantly ordered both the leg (seemingly in the way of sharp tool falling), and the arm to move. To evade pre-recognized 'imminent' injury. The impulse to the arm had to travel a shorter way, so the command which could have moved the leg out of the way, got blocked. There was no time for both, no chance to move the leg first, and no way to actually think it through, when the brain had already seen the hazard.
There is a flaw in our body-construction, that sometimes causes injury, less though in most similar cases, comparing what could have happened.
