A 30-year-old pregnant woman, Lorena L.C., died after an explosive device detonated, while her partner, 36-year-old Segundo C.C., lost both of his lower arms.
What exactly happened has not been confirmed, but apparently, Segundo was engaged in a drunken argument with Lorena, and decided to tie her up and use an explosive device (either sticks of dynamite, or an explosive he attached to her body, depending on the report). Either due to mishandling the explosive, or due to being so drunk, Segundo remained near Lorena as the explosion occurred, causing him to lose his arms.
Segundo was taken to hospital under police custody, as investigations continue into precisely what happened.
